A Cudd-ly Cow Named

Theodore

Moosevelt

This is one legend-dairy cow. He has long-standing beef with the 26th President of the United States for the cow-ordinated propaganda campaign which spread the udderly ridiculous notion that (teddy) bear hugs are best. He knows it always behooves you to consider cudd-ling the bovine. No safety eyes makes this cow safer for younger friends, low-sew options for the lazier hookers.

Height: 10" sitting, 15" standing- cannot stand on own.

Skill level: Intermediate to Advanced | Terms: US

  Supplies Needed

  • crochet hook (I use a 3.0 mm )

  • stitch markers

  • yarn needle

  • scissors

  • fiber fill

  • yarn 335 - 350 yards (acrylic, worsted weight)

Spots

Choose which method you will use to create spots, you can either create the spots first, then sew each spot on the arms, legs and body after they are created, or you can crochet spots using color changes while you go for a lower sew option. Instructions for spots which are sewn on later are below. To crochet in spots use color changes and begin using following instructions. Color Change Charts are available for reference.

To crochet in using color changes, begin to add spots as instructed below:

    • Arms and legs: when instructed to switch to white and begin BLO instructions, start two

    • Body: Begin spots on rounds 6 and 7.

Final Assembly

If not crocheted on, sew on the arms, legs and tail to the body. Sew the head to the body, stretching the neck out and stuffing as you go you avoid an overly floppy head. If ears are not holding their shape, add a few stitches to the front to maintain shape, sew ears to sides of head.
