non-standard abbreviations
sctog join (XXX to XXX): stitch to join two pieces made separately. Insert your hook first through both loops of the first piece listed in parentheses, then through both loops of the second piece listed. Typically front to back for both parts. Hold aligned, and pull a loop up through both parts. Complete a single crochet as normal. Additional information about placement, or other alterations, such as BLO will appear in italics above the round / row instructions.
sctog close: single crochet together to close- fold piece in half, insert hook through next stitch and last stitch completed in previous round, pull up loop through both parts, complete sc as normal to join both sides of piece. Complete next sctogclose through both stitches on either side of the fold.
